Watford vs Liverpool – Premier League
Saturday 12th August 12:30, Vicarage Road
Match Preview and Betting Tips
Watford and Liverpool get their new Premier League season underway in Saturday’s early kick-off at Vicarage Road, where Marco Silva makes his return to the top flight after being relegated with Hull City.
The hosts announced their club record signing Andre Grey just days before the season began, and I think he and Deeney will form a great partnership up front and it would suggest that Silva will go with two up front.
Liverpool’s opener has been overshadowed by Barcelona’s advances for their creative and goal scoring midfielder Coutinho, who is apparently keen on a move to the Camp Nou despite Liverpool saying he was not for sale and rejecting two offers for the Brazilian already.
This is a fixture that always seems to produce goals, and I fully expect that to be the case tomorrow when the pair take to the field once again. It will be interesting to see if Countinho does start the game or whether his mind will be elsewhere, but one thing is for certain, Liverpool are a much better side when he is on the field.
I’ve decided to go with draw tomorrow and both teams to score, as I think Silva will have an early impact at Watford and he has beaten Liverpool before, but the visitors look strong and its hard to see Watford keeping them from scoring with or without Coutinho.

Watford vs Liverpool Head to Head
These two clubs have only met 25 times before, but during that period of games Liverpool have managed to pick up 18 wins and usually fair well against the Hornets.
Just one goal proved enough to separate the sides in this fixture last season, and what a strike it was from German international Can.
Liverpool had a lot more possession during that game and created more shots on target so deserved their victory, and the winning goal arrived at the perfect moment, 3 minutes into first half stoppage time.
Can’s acrobatic strike was certainly one of the goals of the season from a player who doesn’t get many shooting chances, or hit the target when he does, but this one was right from the top drawer.
