Manchester United Vs Rostov
Manchester United will have to recover quickly after their disappointing FA Cup quarter final loss to Chelsea on Monday night.
Manchester United have started to turn the screw recently and Jose Mouriniho will be delighted that his side have not only started to win some football matches, but have silenced some of the media critics that have so enjoyed his teams downfall. The team were unlucky to lose their last match against Chelsea in the FA Cup with a rash red card for Ander Herrera after just 35 minutes giving the Red Devils much to much to do
Rostov finished second in their domestic league last season and will be looking to combine both an improved league performance with a decent European run. The teams head into this one on the back of a drab 0-0 draw against Terek Grozny and will be hoping to make things very difficult for this Manchester United side on Thursday night. The team will be well aware that they need to head into the second leg with more attacking intent than they showed in the first match which could well give the Red Devils more space in behind than they enjoyed last out.
Jose Mouriniho was quick to criticize the quality of the playing surface when these two sides last met. The Portuguese was distinctly unimpressed by what he believed to be the unacceptable quality of the pitch and even talked of the match being called off. However, the game went ahead and United were able to wrestle a solid 1-1 draw from a difficult game against a game Rostov side. However, performances were poor with both Phil Jones and Chris Smalling failing to cover themselves in glory in a match they will likely quickly want to forget.
Home win all day for me in this one. There is no way that on a better pitch and in front of their own fans United will not have what it takes to collect a home win and move on into the next round of the competition. Double the home win with under 2.5 goals to be scored in the game and then if you fancy adding to that an anytime scorer go for Fellaini to pop up and grab one at anytime during the game.
