Hull vs Watford – Premier League

Saturday 22nd April 15:00, KCOM Stadium

Match Preview and Betting Tips

Hull City will be relieved to return to the KCOM Stadium following back to back defeats on the road, but the hosts really have to win tomorrow if they are to remain outside of the bottom three.

As it stands Hull sit 4th from bottom with a 2 point advantage over Swansea, and with Watford provide the opposition tomorrow afternoon the home side know its a great chance to put another huge 3 points on the board.

Watford have 40 points and sit neatly in 10th place at the moment, but there is still work to be done if the Hornets want to finish in the top half. The visitors have won three of their last four in the league, but each of those victories have arrived at Vicarage Road and on their travels Watford have struggled.

This game is probably going to be very close, but I make Hull the favourites at the KCOM and what a huge win it would be in terms of their survival chances. Watford don’t have a lot left to play for this season and their form on the road suggests Hull really should take all 3 points.

That’s where my money is going, and I can see the hosts keeping a rare clean sheet in the process, with under 2.5 goals being scored in the 90 minutes. Niasse hasn’t scored a lot since his move from Everton on-loan, but when he does they tend to be important goals and that’s why I’ve backed the striker to score first tomorrow.

Hull vs Watford Stats

Hull and Watford have met 23 times before, and there isn’t much between them in the head to head record which could make this match trickier to predict.

In October when the pair faced-off in their reverse league fixture the hosts Watford needed just one goal to see them through to 3 points.

Cruelly the goal arrived inside the final 10 minutes and was scored by one of Hull’s most consistent performers Dawson, who put the ball into the back of his own net at the cost of a point. Hopefully for the Tiger’s faithful that dropped point wont come back to haunt them at the end of the season.
