Huddersfield vs Fulham – Championship
Saturday 22nd April 15:00, The John Smith’s Stadium
Match Preview and Betting Tips
Huddersfield and Fulham go head to head this weekend with both sides aiming for a play-off place finish.
Hosts Huddersfield sit two places and 5 points above Fulham, with the visitors currently occupying the final of the four play-off places. Leeds have the same points as Fulham but slipped out of the top 6 last week, but I’m sure they will battle all the way to the final day for their shot at a return to the Premier League.
The hosts have not been in the best of form of late, but a win and a draw in their last two games suggests they could be heading back towards something like their early season best. Fulham have won their last three matches via the same 3-1 scoreline, so goals are not an issue as they go in search of a victory which could lift them above Sheff Wed.
Both teams have scored goals via a number of sources this season rather than relying on one out and out natural goalscorer up front. Kachunga tops the Terriers scoring charts with 12 goals in the league this season and teammate Wells is just two behind him on 10. Scottish duo Cairney and Martin top the Championship scoring charts for the visitors with 10 each, and the pair are likely to cause the Huddersfield backline a few headaches tomorrow.
I’ve gone with both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in this game, but I can’t pick a result as this one feels like it could go either way. Wells and Martin are both on 10 goals in the league and that makes them a good bet to score in a game I hope is full of goals. McDonald has seen plenty of yellow cards this season and one more isn’t going to hurt him in a game that you would expect to be full or passion and purpose.

Huddersfield vs Fulham Stats
Tomorrow marks the 18th match between these two clubs, and its Fulham with 9 wins who have dominated this fixture to date.
When the sides last locked horns in October the home side Fulham scored 5 goals without reply in a convincing display. On-loan Derby County striker Martin scored the first goal after just 8 minutes, and goals from Kalas and Piazon made the half time score 3-0.
Martin then netted his second of the game from the penalty spot shortly after the hour mark and 3 minutes later McDonald wrapped up the scoring with a rare goal to make the final score 5-0.
