Dortmund vs Monaco – Champions League
Tuesday 11th April 19:45, Signal-Iduna-Park
Match Preview and Betting Tips
The Champions League Quarter-Finals are here, and boy do we have some tasty fixtures to bet on.
In Germany tomorrow night Borussia Dortmund host the first leg against a Monaco side earning lots of praise this season, and I think both teams will have been very happy with this draw considering who they might have faced at this stage.
Both teams have been playing some great football of late, with Monaco top of Ligue 1 by 3 points and winning five and losing just one of their last six. Dortmund sit 4th in the Bundesliga and while their form has for the most part been very good they have lost two big games in the league against Hertha and Bayern away from home.
Monaco would be happy to come away from Germany with a score draw, but Dortmund are very strong at home so the visitors might have to settle for a narrow defeat. Away goals could prove vital in this fixture as I would fancy Monaco to beat Dortmund in the return leg, so its very important for the visitors to score and stay within one or two goals of their hosts tomorrow.
I’ve gone agains the bookies and backed this game to end in a draw, with under 2.5 goals being scored. This match is bound to be competitive, as any fixture at this stage of such a prestigious competition should be, so my money is on Monaco’s Bakayoko to receive the first booking of the game.

Dortmund vs Monaco Stats
These two famous European clubs have history in the Champions League, for Monaco that is two semi-final finishes and one as runners-up, but Dortmund went one step further than their French opponent by lifting the trophy in 1997.
Amazingly the two teams have never met before in European football, so tomorrow marks an historic day for both clubs who know they have a great chance of making it to at least the semi-finals this season.
I’m expecting a close game over the two legs, and while this fixture certainly has the potential to produce plenty of goals, I have a feeling its going to be a lot tighter than anyone expects.
