Ajax vs Manchester United – Europa League Final
Wednesday 24th May 19:45. Friends Arena, Solna
Match Preview and Betting Tips
Sweden is the destination for the 2016/17 Europa League Final, where Dutch giants Ajax take part in their first European final since the 1990’s, and face Man Utd who have never won this competition before.
Ajax have more European honours than their opponents having won the Champions League 4 times and the Europa League once. United are no strangers to European finals themselves with 3 Champions League titles, and 1 Cup Winners’ Cup to their name.
The Premier League side are the bookies favourites to claim the title of Europa League champions tomorrow, but they will be without star striker and former Ajax favourite Ibrahimovic, who has provided the English clubs attacking focal point for the majority of the campaign.
Ajax captain Klaassen has been heavily linked with a summer move to Roma or Everton in recent weeks, and if he does leave then he will want to sign off in the best way possible tomorrow night.
Danish forward Dolberg top scores for Ajax with 6 goals in this seasons Europa League, while with Ibrahimovic out its Armenian midfielder Mkhitaryan who leads the way with 5 EL goals for United.
This game is going to be very close, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it went all the way to penalties. However, I’m hoping for, and betting on, at least three goals to be scored in the 90 minutes.
I fancy United to win and for both teams to score with the final result reading 2-1 to the Premier League side. Mkhitaryan has been the saviour for United on a number of occasions in the EL this season, and I’m backing the former Dortmund midfielder to score the first goal in the final.

Ajax vs Manchester United Stats
These two sides will lock horns for the 5th time in their history tomorrow, but this will be the first ever final the pair have contested against one another.
We have to go back to February 2012 for the last match between Ajax and United, and on that day the game was being hosted at Old Trafford and the competition was the Europa League once again.
Mexican striker Hernández got the hosts off to the perfect start with his 6th minute strike, but Ajax responded before the break via a Özbiliz equaliser to make the half time score 1-1.
The game appeared to be heading for a draw until the now Tottenham Hotspur defender Alderweireld found the back of the net with just 3 minutes left on the clock to claim all 3 points for the Dutch visitors.
